Jenny Brookie
Jenny Brookie grew up in a small town in Washington. Always with scraped knees, she spent her summers slithering on her belly up and down the creek that ran through her back yard, catching frogs, grasshoppers and snakes with her little brother. Her winters were filled with snowball fights, sledding down her grandfather’s mountain and warming up in front of the fireplace.
These days, sipping a steaming cup of strong coffee on her back porch while watching the sunrise come up over the Cascade mountains is how Jenny likes to begin her day – long before her family wakes up.
With a love of all things green, you’ll often find her barefoot in her garden, picking weeds or planting new starts she’s propagated herself in her greenhouse. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich picnics with her boys under the family’s gigantic apple tree are almost a daily occurrence in the summertime.
The world is fresh and sparkling when seen through her children’s eyes. Every day, every drive, every flower or puddle is an adventure. Jenny enjoys telling bedtime stories. Her children give her three nouns and out pops a story. The tales that get repeat requests get written down. Stories about mischievous but lovable children seem to be the biggest hits with her own family, whether it be the Brookie Brothers spilling flour all over their kitchen or Felix Fernando Finnegan Flynn neglecting his duties to help spring happen.
Please contact Jenny if you have any potential projects that you’d like to discuss. She’s always looking for new and creative challenges. Thank you for visiting!
